junit : 4.10

Description

JUnit is a regression testing framework written by Erich Gamma and Kent Beck.
It is used by the developer who implements unit tests in Java.

[ manual entry ]: JUnit is the default Test Framework for Java. It is really easy to use and well documented. If you have to write unit tests in Java, this is the way to go.

This project is epic! If that many other packages are referencing it, it must be good and useful. Shame on you if you don't know this project. As a Java dev this is a must have on your resume!
This version number (4.10) doesn't fit semantic versioning 2.0.0!

JUnit is the default Test Framework for Java. It is really easy to use and well documented. But TestNG offers more features and is well documented, too. I like TestNG more. But JUnit is a fantastic Framework, too!

Still the standard for most of the industry. Its simplicity makes it easy to adopt, but it is pretty basic.

There is nothing wrong with JUnit. It is simple and it works. But if you need more features. There are other options. For example TestNG or Spock with Groovy Support.
